Sattelegg - Chli Aubrig
Easy circular walk near Zürich (1h by car). You will be rewarded with outstanding views! Bring hiking shoes as the trail can be very muddy.

Practical Information
We parked the car at Parkplatz Passhöhe (in front of Sattelegg restaurant). We walked about 1h 45min (4 km) to reach the top and 2h (5 km) to go back (it was very muddy so it took us 30 min longer than the indicated time). The elevation was about 400m, some parts were tougher but in general it was all doable. It is a good idea to bring hiking shoes because the trail (especially the one on the way back) can be very muddy!
Suggested apps: to follow the route you can download the "swisstopo" app (official Swiss app), I highly recommend checking the weather on the "MeteoSwiss" app (forecasts are often right). Last, if you want to go super safe and fear accidents you can download the "Rega" app (Swiss Air Rescue Guard).
The ascent
From the parking lot, we took the path on the right (with our backs facing the parking lot). It turned out to be a winning choice as we avoided the mud uphill and the climb was smoother and more gradual.
On the way up, you will be rewarded with wonderful views.
Keep the right, walk up some small stairs and you will find yourself in the shade with some goats.
Just before starting the climb to the summit it's possible to eat something at this small restaurant, buy some cheeses (goat and cow), fill your water bottle at the fountain or go to the bathroom. We tried goat, cow and pepper cheeses and they were delicious.
On the top
The last climb to reach the summit is the shortest but also the toughest.
Then, we enjoyed the view while tasting good cheese and wine (my fav part).
The descent back to the car
On the way back, follow the signs to Sattelegg (always keep the left). I personally liked more the return path; there are fewer viewpoints but you go through the forest.
About halfway down we encountered several cows.
The last half was quite difficult because of the mud. We had to walk slowly and carefully.
If you are not exhausted from the walk, I highly recommend a visit to the nearby monastery (15-minute drive).
